Longworth Rose Volume One
The Longworth Rose, first published in 1998, is the journal of Longworth and District History Society which serves the villages of Longworth, Hinton Waldrist and Kingston Bagpuize with Southmoor.
It is a regular 12-page magazine (Jan / May / Sept), filled with items of local historical interest and is intended to become a place of safe keeping for interesting items of written and visual information about our district.
The well-illustrated journal includes historical records, memories of those who have lived in the area for some time and also accounts of everyday life both in the past and today.
To allow new subscribers to build up their ‘encyclopaedia’, all earlier issues of the Longworth Rose are kept in print and page numbering is consecutive from the first number so that each volume can eventually form a bound volume. Individual numbers cost 50p
The first 24 issues of the magazine (Volume One, 1998-2005) have been bound to make a 292 page A4 book including a comprehensive index.
